Brief Description: CLIMET SYSTEMS is owned and operated by Forensic / Consulting Climatologist Dr. Michael Morassutti, an Accredited Consultant by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and a Member of the Canadian Society of Forensic Science. He has over 12 years experience in the analysis and correlation of events, concerns or problems with weather conditions, including site investigations. He has testified as an expert witness in civil and criminal court.

He obtained his degrees from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (Bachelors-Hons.), the University of Colorado at Boulder in the United States (Masters), and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia (Doctorate). Coursework: climatology, hydrometeorology, hydrology, snow & ice processes, climate change, remote sensing, geomorphology, pedology, statistics, computer science. Involving: satellite-radar image analysis, weather instrumentation & measurement, precipitation and hydrological measurement, climate databases, atmospheric modelling.

He has also worked for the Atmospheric Environment Service, Environment Canada, including a term as a Research Scientist at the Earth-Observations Laboratory, Institute for Space and Terrestrial Science, at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He has gone on two lengthy field expeditions to the Canadian High Arctic to study weather, snow and ice interactions.

He is listed as an Expert Witness at the following law associations: Ontario Trial Lawyer's Association, Canadian Criminal Lawyer's Association, The Advocate's Society, Legal Aid Ontario, British Columbia Trial Lawyer's Association, Saskatchewan Trial Lawyer's Association, Alberta Civil Trial Lawyer's Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and other American law organizations.

He has published in the scientific literature for such journals as: International Journal of Climatology, International Journal of Remote Sensing, Theoretical and Applied Climatology, Canadian Water Resources Journal, Computers and Geosciences, Progress in Physical Geography, including conference proceedings and internal institutional publications. He has also been an Article Reviewer for the journal Natural Hazards and the International Journal of Remote Sensing. In February 2000 he presented an overview of Forensic Climatology at the 52 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences in Reno, Nevada.

He has also published articles in newspapers: Ottawa Citizen, Calgary Herald, Montreal Gazette, including trade periodicals: The Lawyer's Weekly, Canadian Underwriter and Without Prejudice.
